If you have recently asked for SEO quotes in Iran, you are probably confused: one agency quoted 5M IRT per month, another 40M, and a third will not sign below a 100M annual contract — and all three promised "page one of Google." Where does this gap come from, and what is a fair number for your business? This guide — a follow-up to our website pricing guide — gives real 2026 (1405) ranges.
What are you actually buying?
SEO is not a single product; it is four disciplines working together. Technical SEO (speed, crawlability, structured data, mobile) is the invisible foundation — a site that takes 8 seconds to load on mobile will not rank no matter how much content you publish. Keyword research and content target the phrases your real customers search, not just the highest-volume ones. Link building is the most expensive and riskiest part: clean links from reputable media are slow and costly, while cheap bulk links invite Google penalties. Finally, UX and conversion work turns rankings into actual sales.
Pricing models in Iran
Monthly retainers are the most common and most sensible model, usually with a six-month minimum — anything shorter is not enough time to judge results. One-off projects (a full SEO audit, technical fixes, redesign or migration support) have fixed prices and are a good entry point. Hourly consulting for in-house teams runs roughly 2–5M IRT per hour for an experienced specialist. Performance-based deals sound attractive but usually end in disputes over vague definitions or risky shortcuts; if you choose one, the KPI must be precise and written down.
Real 2026 rates
- Small corporate site, moderate competition: 10–25M IRT per month — technical fixes, 2–4 expert articles monthly, clean limited link building, monthly reporting. Expect visible organic growth from months 4–6.
- Online stores and mid-sized businesses: 25–60M IRT per month — more complex technical work (filter pages, duplicates, inventory), more content, heavier link building, usually a multi-person team.
- Highly competitive markets (gold, medical, insurance, real estate): 60M+ per month. Entering these markets on a small budget is bidding with empty pockets.
- One-off projects: a full audit with an actionable roadmap runs 20–40M; implementing technical fixes up to 60M.
- Local SEO (clinics, restaurants, city services): 6–15M per month — Google Business Profile, city-level keywords and reviews. The cheapest, fastest entry point for city-based businesses.
Link building and sponsored articles
Sponsored articles (reportage) range from a few hundred thousand IRT on no-name sites to 10–50M on major news media. The difference is not prestige: one relevant link from a reputable outlet outranks dozens of cheap ones and carries zero penalty risk. If a package promises "20 links a month" on a budget that would not buy two reputable placements, ask where those links come from.
How long until results?
First signs appear in months 2–3, meaningful traffic growth in months 4–6, and stable rankings for money keywords in 6–12 months. Anyone promising much faster is either using risky shortcuts or will show you reports about irrelevant keywords. The upside: unlike paid ads, SEO does not go to zero when you stop paying — over a one-year horizon, customer acquisition through SEO almost always ends up cheaper than ads.
Why cheap SEO gets expensive
A "3M per month" package is only possible by cutting the work that produces results: machine-generated content, bulk spam links, chart-filled reports with no business numbers. Worse, spam links and copied content can trigger Google penalties — and cleanup projects cost tens of millions while your site earns nothing from search. Rule of thumb: if a quote is a third of everyone else's, something has been cut; you just do not know what yet.
What must be in the contract
Exact monthly deliverables (not vague "optimization"), measurable KPIs with today's baseline, transparent monthly reports, full ownership of Search Console, Analytics and all content in your name, a complete list of links built each month, and clear exit terms. An agency that keeps its links "confidential" usually has something to hide.
Red flags
Guaranteed #1 rankings (Google itself says nobody can), results in one month, "secret methods," prices far below market, and reluctance to share references.
In-house or outsourced?
A good full-time SEO specialist costs at least 40–70M IRT monthly with benefits — and one person cannot be a technical expert, content producer and link builder at once. For most businesses the sensible mix is an external team with all the skills plus one internal person who transfers business knowledge and tracks output.
Setting your budget
The right question is not "how little can we pay" but "what is a new customer worth?" If your customer lifetime value is 50M IRT and SEO brings just two new customers a month, a 30M monthly budget is profitable from the first productive month.
